B'lore 20-25 feb trip

Taken - The story of an ex-CIA preventer who retires to spend more time with his daughter who gets kidnapped at Paris. Inundated with the typical intelligence bureau machoism, its almost edge-of-the-seat. This only thanks to the continuous action sequels. The movie could do with at least an iota of suspense or twists in the story. An average 2-hour filler.

Children of Heaven
- There is something subtly real and sublimely convincing about a child's portrayal of a young protagonist. The audience immediately relate to their childhood. Children of Heaven has that exact feel to it. An extremely beautiful Iranian movie about a how a little kid loses his sister's pair of shoes and how they manage to keep the news from their poor parents who struggle to keep the ends met. The movie is a classic example of how a simple story can be told beautifully to make a lasting impression. You will fall in love with the kids' innocence and they yet again demonstrate the power of true emotion. A brilliant must-watch to say the least.

Valkyrie - The Second World War does not seem to be coming to an end. Hitler's Germany is growing. The world is wary. They know that if Europe is under his autocratic control, nothing can stop him from shredding the world into bits. There is growing unrest in the country and many aware of the atrocities by this one soul. A few brave men choose to do something about it. They hatch Operation Valkyrie which includes the plan to assassinate the Fuhrer and to gain immediate control of the Germany. They follow under the orders of General Stauffenberg ( Tom Cruise ). The plan later coming to be known as the July 20 plot unfolds in the movie and it truly is an edge-of-the-seat thriller. 1944 Berlin is well depicted and the characters have been played to near-perfection. A great watch especially for war-movie buffs.

Delhi-6 - Roshan ( Abhishek Bachchan ) is the son of a Hindu father and a Muslim mother and settled in New York. His grandmother takes ill and to please her last wish, he takes her back to Delhi. That part of Delhi where the Muslims make masks for the Ram-Leela Ras and where Hindu-Muslim goodwill puts most of India to shame. At the same time, there is news that a monkey-man is out loose and is wreaking havoc in the city in a continuous spate of robberies and supposed attacks. The movie is about how Roshan is bitten by the bug that is Delhi and how he comes about
changing or tries changing the lives, ideas and thoughts of the people there. A message-laden movie with frequent, refreshing humour and some really kickass music. A good movie for anyone looking for a change from the typical Bollywood content , not that Delhi-6 does not have its own quota of the magical Bollywood flavour.
